Winter/Holiday Break 12/23-1/1- No Classes

Winter Break Assignment:
Goal is to complete the unit during the break, which includes reading and annotating the packet, pp. 9-23.  Use the guiding questions to aid in your understanding.  Also, complete Chapter 13 in text for additional data.  Keep in mind the overall learning focus when reading and note taking.  Additionally, set up a pacing schedule for yourselves.  Put aside blocks of time during the 10 days so that you do not leave it all for January 1.  This is much to much to handle in a day's work.  If there were classes, we would complete several pages per day.  Break it down into THREE components:
  1. Expansion of Lincoln's War powers, including the Emancipation Proclamation, and impact on Union chances- Was Lincoln justified?
  2. The Necessity of Total War- case study: Sherman's March- and impact on Union chances
  3. The Costs of War- Was it worth it?

Written Assignment Due January 2: Complete the Writing Assignment on p. 24.  I am expecting maximum effort and several pieces of historical evidence to complete both parts of the task.

1/2-1/3- Focus will be on Lincoln's war powers and the impact of Emancipation Proclamation.

Happy Holidays!!!
Happy New Year!!!
